Grand Case

Every Friday a few of the spouses that are getting ready to go home at the end of the semester have been picking a different beach to go to. Its been fun because its given me a chance to see a lot of the different beaches. When we first got here, I did not feel a need to see all 37 beaches, I figured once I saw a few, I'd about see them all. I was completely wrong, each beach is different and awesome in a different way. A couple Fridays ago we went to Grand Case Beach. Pronounced (Grand Kaas).

Grand Case is on the French Side of the island. Its known as the Gourmet Capital. It has a boardwalk feel, to it. It has tons of restaurants and shops that go along the beach. The beach is white sandy and fairly calm. I did like the beach because it had some buildings and a wall that helped give us some shade which was nice.

There is an island that is about 7 miles away from us called Anguilla. You can see it from just about any beach on the French side of the island. I don't just mean a big huge island out in the distance. You can actually pick out the different buildings. They are all white, and on some beaches you can even see the white Sandy beaches across the distance. Once we go to Grand Case we were extremely close and the pictures I got showed that you could see the island of Anguilla from our island super well, it might just not show how close it really is. I bet some really enthusiastic person has swam there before. Its a lot closer than swimming the English Channel, which I know people have swam before.

I really did like Grand Case and I am excited to go back and visit again.

Roped off for schools. Keep boats out of that area.
